How to get an Appointment
All Kuwait University Dental Center patients are treated on a comprehensive care basis. At the time of registration at the reception, patients must sign the Kuwait University Dental Center Consent Form, indicating that they would accept treatment by student doctors and staff under the rules and regulations of the center. After registration, a screening consultation at the Admissions Clinic follows.
The screening consultation includes intra and extra-oral examination and recording of the information according to the treatment policy of the College of Dentistry. In addition, a brief examination is done to assess the patient's treatment needs. Panoramic radiographs are taken if it is needed during the screening visit. Additional radiographs, such as intraoral or bitewing radiographs, may also be taken if needed. This radiographic information offers valuable supplemental information for diagnosis and treatment planning that may not be available through clinical examination or history taking alone.
Patients must sign a written questionnaire concerning his/her health status and medications. Patients requiring emergency services due to acute dental disease, trauma, or pain shall be offered immediate treatment according to the clinic's resources.
Patients whose treatment needs are within the scope of the educational program will be admitted whether for comprehensive care or limited services.
Patients who are admitted will be put on a waiting list.
Patients who are denied admission shall be informed orally at the time of the decision and the reason for that decision.
Patient Waiting List
Patients admitted to the Kuwait University Dental Center after the screening consultation will be on a waiting list. Patients shall be assigned to the students in the Comprehensive Dental Care (CDC) clinic for treatment based on the patients' treatment needs and the student's clinical program requirements.
All patients admitted at KUDC will be offered recall services according to their needs. The frequency of recall visits will be planned individually based on an evaluation by the clinical instructor.
Patient Records
Patient records shall include the health history, medications, referrals, consultations, dental charts, diagnosis, progress notes, correspondence related to care, medical laboratory reports, prescribed medications, details of dental laboratory services, radiographs, and treatment planning forms.
