College of Dentistry
Comprehensive Care Services
Dental procedures such as prophylaxis (cleanings), restorations (fillings), bridges and single crowns, periodontal care (for gums), complete and partial dentures, simple extractions of broken teeth or impacted teeth, dental treatment for children, etc. are provided by dental students under the supervision of faculty staff in the CDC clinics. Therefore, patients are treated mainly on a comprehensive care basis.
Patients who seek or are referred for limited services within the scope of the undergraduate clinical program will be provided limited care services after informing them of the importance of comprehensive care.
Specialty Care Services
If a patient admitted at KUDC requires more advanced restorative work, extensive periodontal treatment, orthodontics, root canal therapy, oral surgery, or complex crown and bridge work, they will be treated by the graduate students or the Faculty Staff.
Treatment in the Faculty clinic is based on available resources and the need for educational purposes.
Emergency Services
The emergency dental treatment alleviates pain immediately and addresses acute problems such as infection and trauma. The Emergency clinic is open all weekdays from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm. In addition, patients already assigned to KUDC, who need emergency care during regular business hours, will be seen by their assigned student at the appropriate time whenever possible. KUDC patients who need emergency care after regular business hours will have to call their closest government dental care unit. Successful treatment requires the patient's commitment to completing the treatment plan.
